Celebrating Leeds Industrial Past Through Art: The Round Foundry Art Show

This July, Marshall’s Mill is proud to present the Round Foundry Art Show. A mixed media exhibition featuring the work of 13 exceptional local artists. The exhibition pays tribute to the area’s rich railway heritage and its role as a birthplace of the Industrial Revolution.

Running from 19th – 28th July, the exhibition forms part of the lead-up to Rail 200 on 2025, which marks 200 years since the launch of the world’s first passenger train. The Round Foundry holds a special place in history, it was here that Salamanca was built in 1812 by Matthew Murray and John Blenkinsop, becoming the first successful steam locomotive.

Join us for the launch evening on Saturday 19th July, from 6pm to 9pm at Dry Sand Foundry. Enjoy an evening of art, conversation and refreshments in one of Leeds beautiful Grade II listed buildings.

The exhibition showcases a diverse range of work from paintings to sculptures, each piece offering a unique reflection on Leeds past, present and evolving identity. Our featured artists explore the city’s industrial legacy and transformation through a variety of creative lenses.
