Halloween may have changed, but it’s still happening!

October 21 2020

Our Halloween events have always been a massive hit with our tenants, the people of Leeds and those who travel further afield to experience the spookiest night of the year.

Fun fact: Did you know Halloween night goes back more than 2,000 years?

Unfortunately, with the pandemic and social distancing restrictions, we won’t be able to host our usual Nightmare on Marshalls Street. However, that doesn’t been Halloween is cancelled. No way!

We may not be able to host our famous spooky ghost walks or outdoor cinemas this year, but we will still be celebrating one of our favourite days of the year in style.

You will soon begin to see the estate gaining a more spooky theme with festive decorations throughout. Among the decorations will be a chance for five lucky people to win a £20 voucher for one of our fantastic food and drink vendors on site.

From October 26 to October 31, five posters will appear around the Marshall’s Mill estate each with their very own puzzle and clue. For a chance to win all you need to do is follow the trail and clues via our QR scan codes starting with the first puzzle outside Main Reception.

Once you figure out this puzzle, simply scan the QR code, enter your answer and wait for your next instructions.

Lisa Riley, our Events Coordinator and Receptionist, said: “We are sorry to announce the cancellation of our annual ghostly tours and Halloween events, but we have worked hard to put an exciting competition together to provide a fun experience, as well as supporting our tenants on site. It’s great to see old and new faces on site, so we hope you can take part in our Halloween competition. We look forward to seeing you all again and have our fingers crossed for the Nightmare on Marshalls Street 2021”.

We look forward to seeing you on the hunt. We welcome all to take part, whether it’s in a fabulous Halloween costume or your usual clothes.

All we ask is please wear a mask if entering buildings including bars and restaurants on-site and maintain distance from others as much as possible. You can check out our best practices to keep socially distanced in accordance with Government guidelines here.

Feel free to share the event on your socials or share with us your ghost stories on social media too, check us out on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook.
